I have a hard time mourning a loved one's death
they took their final breath
and said good bye
when I look in amazement out at all the stars
heaven seems so far
and I cry
it must have been worth a lot to lose your innocence
trade it in for common sense
sometimes I wonder why
it must have been hard to leave your paradise
to heed the serpent's lies
when you knew you'd die
well all I really know is that I'm glad you did
look at what you started
see all the lives
and it may not ever be as perfect as it was
but that's okay because
in our dreams we fly
and I don't know how you can ever be repaid
for all the things you gave
but you know I'll try
